America was founded on the belief that all men were created equal. That each and every person who came to our shores should be afforded the same freedoms and liberties and their piece of the American dream. Over the last 232 years the definition of the American Dream has changed and morphed as the q ... Continue reading »

  • Jamie,
Well said my man. The idea that I am somehow "anti-American" for voting me beliefs is the most un-American statement I have ever heard.
A famous quote from the Revolutionary War goes something like, "I disagree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it." The concept of America in my mind is something that has been greatly distorted in recent years. I would rather die from an attack of some sort, than be saved by information that was gained through torture. This might sounds grim to some, but America is that important to me. When we say "We Do Not Torture" we mean it. Why, because we are a beacon.
There are darks place out there, and in order to bring light to them we must remain that beacon. We must remain the example of what a truly open and welcoming society can be.
Any society that gives up a little freedom to gain a little safety, will neither get, nor deserves, either.
  • If change is what America wants in this country, change for the sake of change, even if it's bad change, then drastic change is what we will get with Obama.

I might add that is a democratically controlled congress that passed the bailout, and that both candidates voted for this plan. However, the bailout would have never been needed had democrats not thrawted efforts for the past 5 years to reform Fannie and Freddie. See following NYTimes article from 2003:

    http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=...

''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee.

If you're going to lay blame, please do it accurately after being properly informed. Feel free to do some of your own research to discover the same facts I have been aware of for months.

Finally, let's hope whoever is elected hasn't broken the cardinal rule of marketing and customer satisfaction. (As a marketer I'm sure this is the last thing the Blog author would like to see). The worst thing a marketer can do is OVERPROMISE and UNDER DELIVER. Hopefully for the sake of America both candidates will fulfill their campaign pledges. I have a feeling most Americans know which candidate has promised more, and possibly created unachievable expectations. We'll find out soon.
  • Well, Mr. Taxes and so well informed. Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts about the election. I however never mentioned any taxes, anything at all to do with Fannie or Freddie or any real facts other than my opinion that McCain and Palin are a dividing force. As you so demonstrated above. Way to repudiate your self with your own words.

    I bet you're a Maverick!
